Scope columns based on type in Webtop

I understand how to configure the columns in webtop that isn't exactly what this question is about, to be clear I want different columns depending on what type is displayed. For example, in the categories node, if there are only dm_category objects, drop the columns that deal with document attributes, when there are documents dispalyed show them again. Another example is objectlist, if only folders (or cabinets) are listed there should be a different set of columns displayed by default than if there are folders and documents listed.

Is this possible by just modifying component XML files? Scoping the columns displayed by type in each of the components doesn't seem to help.

Hi,

We had the same requirement in our project and did the below steps:

1. Created new qualifer which determines whether particular cabinet or folder has only folders or not using dql.

If it has folder only then qualifer value is "A" or else "B"

2. Created two object list component and scoping with qulifier.

3. Different column set is written in the component xml.
