Script To Walk Branches?

I have created a .KSH script that automatically cuts a new edition for all branches/sub-branches on my box, a basic thing. I actually went through the structure and hand-typed out every line for every place I wanted to cut an edition.

But now if someone adds a new branch on me without telling me, it will not get new editions unless they tell me to go in and update the script. Is there a script floating around that will walk the tree each time and show me EVERY place on the box I can cut an edition, then allow my script to do that? I need an automatic way to see (and report on) all branches.

Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly, and I'm not a UNIX person (we're running on Solaris 8), so I'm not too handy with Perl scripts or anything.

Here is the perl code to walk the backing store.
I am just posting as I had it handy from another reply I just made.
I can't think of how to test whether a folder is a branch off hand, but I am sure someone will help you out.

Main thing, you need to maintain the path according to windows (Y:/)

After my previous reply, I seached the code but I think its missed.

In Unix path starts with / and in windows with Y:/

So just take this thing and put prefix Y: at the places.

It is working but not showing all the active stores.It isnt working for Default.I can missout on other store.But default is active and required.

Hmm - that's odd - can you post the output you see from the command: iwstoreadm -l ?

showed all the 4 stores that appear in the CCProfessional.This includes the Default store. The script shows the branches of only 2 stores.

Please show the actual output - otherwise I have no way of figuring out why it doesn't appear to be working for you (even then, I might not be able to figure it out - but it significantly improves the odds).

I got all the branches and sub-branches under intranet and documents .But not for default and software.

Hmm - as far as I can tell the code should work as-is (with the fix recently provided).

Try adding the following line to the code and post the results of having done so:

foreach my $store (get_active_stores()){
warn("STORE: '$store'\n"); 
    find_branches("$iwmount/$store/main");
}

My server currently has 2 stores - and both of them get traversed. I'm trying to figure out whether the problem is with getting the list of stores - or perhaps permissions on some of the store directories that are failling to get traversed - though if there was a permission error on a directory you should get the error message on opendir().
