I want a checkbox to get set by default to true or false depending on a document attribute, when the form initializes.

The form that i am using is a Process initiation form. So when I select a document this check box should get checked to true or false depending on the attribute.

Any lead on this would be really helpful.

but here i am writing solution for other users who are facing same issue

For this Requirement you need to write an adaptor called DocumentProcessor

so if you are using SBO then create and interface which extending follwoing Interface

like public interface ICutomNameInitDocumentProcessor extends IDocbaseDocumentProcessor, IServiceAdaptor

then write a implemnation class

public classCutomNameInitDocumentProcessor extends DfService implements ICutomNameInitDocumentProcessor {

}

in this class get the Document Id of your selected document

then

write business logic for check and uncheck

then set the value of checkbox control

using

JXPathContext jxpathcontext = JXPathContext.newContext(document);

Iterator iterator = jxpathcontext.iteratePointers(xPath);

Pointer pointer = (Pointer) iterator.next();

pointer.setValue(value);

where xpath is your path in xForms like Activity/ProcessData/Variables/ischecked..
