Documentum and Active Directory

Hello Experts,

When importing users from LDAP, is it possible to keep their login names as in active directory but give a different user name to each user?

The problem is that, in our customer's active directory server, users names are in English, but in documentum they must not be in English. So, I don't know whether there is a way to create a link between documentum user and active directory user in such a way that, it will allow me to authenticate against directory, yet give a different name to the user.

Yes, this is where the dm_user attributes user_name & user_login_name come into play. user_name is the name of the user that Documentum will use internally, i.e. in ACLs, groups etc, and the login name is used for authentication.

Did you already have a look to the dm_ldap_synchronisation method ?

In the LDAP mapping tab, you can actually map user_login_name to other attributes in your directory. So if you are storing non-English name in another attribute, you can use this to map user_login_name.
