We have a requirement, where we serach user based upon DQL in Advanced serch form, this has ben done,

Now the business wants to edit any single user in the serach form,

I have created an Business process wih business initiation form to edit any single user, this is working as well

Only place I am stuck now is to pass data from The advanced serach form to the business intitaion form through an invoke button(or any other suggested approach) and pass the selected users Login name in this process.

I tried this link :

It semed fine initially but I see that its not working fine, the Component class never gets executed hence Value in param1(please refer teh Link) does never goes into sessionstate variable,

Now I am thinking is it only aplicable for Documnets?

The answer of your question is as following

1) yes you need to add r_object_id ,so that you will get this id in your component component

2)and in this case you in you component behavior class you will get the value and then

start workflow

with your custom argument list ...

3)we achived similar type of requirement ..

also before start workflow this class is called

com.documentum.webcomponent.library.imaging.workflow.StartWorkflowFromDocComponent

you can override of onStartWorkflow for additional things

SessionState.setAttribute("userNameDOCID", userName);

this is also quit good idea on invoke button u can pass the r_object_id and then get the value of userName and after setting value in session invoke the process intiation action

at process intiaion form get that value using adaptor and set there

its not stragith forward to achvie this requirement

for this you need to use following steps

pass the parameter in action file

2.Customize the TaskSpaceXFormsComponent ..because call is went there

and on click button you need to write some custom code

like to start process intiation form with pass param

ArgumentList docargs = new ArgumentList();

docargs.add("type", "dm_sysobject");

docargs.add("objectId", docId);

docargs.add("DocumentId", docId);

docargs.add("asattachment", docId);

flag = ActionService.execute("your action name to start process", docargs, getContext(), this, this);

then u will get the value in docargs

Seems Legimit But I have fewe doubts:

1) My search form Returns Users Not Document also In that serach form I have no coloumn for ObjectId should I return that in Serach form (Using DQL)

So in Onstartworkflow how exacly I will populate values fromthe Docargs into the Form , cause

they used adaptors, but then you didnt mention adaptor here,

Even if I think to use onStartWorklow and put alogic to make a default value go to user_login_name (or r_object_id ) in Process initiation form , but still I need control of that particular Dmf:textfield, but as it Custom form I couldnt debugg the textfiedl for my Process inititaion form.

Just one more question, on ADaptor,

For this requirement i have made two Jar files Implementation and Interface and deployed them as SBo.

While thuis was deployed successfully as I could see that in System/Modules/SBo folder.

Also I deployed tose two class files as Class in WebInf folder

but hwen I was trying to create my daptor on the process initiation Form I was not getting the Adptor Class,

I did a work around of creating dmc_xfm-adaptor_config obect by

Create "dmc_xfm_adaptor_config" object set object_name= 'SessionState' ,set owner_name = 'AdminDMD6', set owner_permit = 7 , set group_name= 'docu' ,set group_permit= 1 ,set world_permit=4 ,set acl_domain= 'documentum',set acl_name='Forms User Default ACL' , set adaptor_type= 'item_initilizer', set impl_class ='com.takeda.pubbase.adaptor.SetParentId' ,set impl_type ='class' , set is_public= 0 , set output_type= 'String'

i got the daptor there at form but is it correct approach or I am missing something

answer of your question

Its ok ..this is the limitation of forms builder it will not pick the SBO classes from repository

so everyone when they create new adptor definition then they

will select the SBO and then that dropdown

they will hard code the value there..like..

com.takeda.pubbase.adaptor.SetParentId

and this information is saved in dmc_xfm_adaptor_config object with object name

both are ok but advisble u should use forms builder when u creating an adaptor definitions

But I am little confused over here, following arethe steps you suggested:

This is supposed to be ts_action defination XML right

Now from ts_action_defination the call goes to dm-process action file file where the defination of this action is done which inturn calls Startworkflow container component(which has Taskspcace forms)

1.action definiton is for your invoke button ,..that is plain wdk action with component and container

2.in component you can get the value and base of that value you can invoke process inition action

3.That process initiation action you need to define in your taskspace application with ts_designer role in configuration tab
