How to avoid duplicates/response mail on same work request using process invocation from Email-Inbou

Hello All,

We are working on requirement, where customer sents mail as work request on particular ID and from that mail ID Inbox, using BPS Email Inbound Initiate. which invokes the reuquired process.

Problem is , consider customer sending response or reminder on same work request. How can we block /avoid creating invoking of the process.

1. Is this something, we can setup on Mail Client.

2. In Documentum process with the help of coorelation identifier (I have not used yet)

Can any one throw some pointer on scenario, how should we processed on this implementation?

2. No, not if you are using Email Inbound Initiate. Yes, if you are using Email Inbound Step. The coorelation identified is used to "filter" emails that you want to launch workflows from those they you do not want. Emails who dont have the "right" coorelation ID are move to temp folder on BPS server. Read xCP Best Practices guide for more details.

If you want to use Email Inbound Initiate, just include in your workflow checks to see if email is valid or not before executing the rest of the workflow.

Add another activity after "Email Inbound Initiate", to process validation. In this validation you check whether particular ID of a document was already processed or not. You can use either DQL (query based on your logic) and if the logic cannot be performed through DQL then write custom activity using workflow method.

For e.g.,

Assuming you need to move a document from one folder to another folder once you receive an email.

After the inbound activity, add a DQL acitivity to check whether the document is in target folder or not. If not, then move the document.

Please let me know if you need more info as we have implemented similar scenario.
