Isn't this covered in the ts-install guide?

In guide only initial installation part is covered.What i am asking is something different.My querry is to transfer weserver from IIS to iPlanet after the TS installation on IIS

You must have promted for either configure IIS while Teamsite installation or you can do the same manually later. It is clearly mentioned in the installation guide.

I think, you can configure your own customer web server, you may need to set something like below in iw.cfg
customer_webserver_host=example.com
customer_webserver_port=81

Unless you were doing some sort of IIS integration work (like for ASP files or some such) - you should be able to just remove the instance of IIS that's listening on port 81 and replace it with an iPlanet instance listening on port 81 (with whatever additional configuration setup is needed for iPlanet to be used in conjunction with TeamSite - like aliasing /iw-mount and such) - and it should just work.

The host and port information in the iw.cfg file shouldn't need to be changed - because ultimately it should be the same host and port number that is used for iPlanet.

Hi,
Thanks !!! This sounds prmising to me.But i am not going to implement this thing until and unless i am sure that this will work(Because we have to confirm it to our customer).

>>> If i don't want IIS to be shut down(other application are using IIS too), then can we install iPlanet on some other port(lets say 83/84) and change the teamsite sonfig file(s) for the new port(one which is hosting iPlanet web server).

What you said is a paradox:

>> i am not going to implement this thing until and unless i am sure that this will work

YOU can never be sure that it will work unless YOU implement it ;-)

I have seen this done a lot of times before - yes, successfully!

If you are changing ports - you will have to modify the iw.cfg file.
But nobody else should be using port 81 - which is the port that IIS is listening on for TeamSite - so if you shut down *that* instance of IIS (not the entire IIS server) - and have iPlanet listen on port 81 (with the appropriate http.conf changes for iPlanet as per TeamSite docmentation) - then you should be able to verify it.

Do you not have a DEV box where you can try this out to verify it?
If not (that's a significant problem) - you can always try it "outside of business hours" - and if it doesn't work [the first time] just re-start the IIS instance listening on port 81.
