How to get all the information of history of an object instance

Hi Expert,

i have a object type Customer ..it has multiple instance ..

for particualr one instance let see customer name is ABC

now this is edit or modify multiple time now i want toget the history information of this object ..like who mofdify this object and what value he changed that time

is it possible in Documentum .

Use following DQL

select r_object_id,object_name,version_label,acl_name,event_name,user_name,time_stamp,attribute_list,attribute_list_id,attribute_list_old from dm_audittrail where object_type = 'customer' and object_name ='ABC' order by time_stamp

where attribute_list is the modify value of attribute at particular event(, seprated)

and attribute_list_old is the old value of attribute (the time before user change the value)

This is the basic features of Documentum ..This is known as Auditing ..for more details please look in to Content server fundamental...

Auditing is the process of recording the occurrence of system and application events in the repository. Events are operations performed on objects in a repository or something that happens in an application.

you need to first register your customer type in Audit managment using DA...

If you dont have audit turned on already, you do you have who and when updated the object last. Look at r_modifier and r_modify_date attribute. This wont tell you what modifications has been done though. This is only available if you have audit turned on prior to modifications.

And make sure dmadmin(superuser/installtion owner ) can not give himself full audit privilges ...for that you need to create antother superuser account ...then login with that user account you can give the permission to dmadmin for full audit privileges .. ..i dont know why this is like ..

I understand the concept ..now I On the audit event for customer type ...

is there any DQL/API to get the all information which is in my original post ...of customer type

By default this is provided by all WDK client ...

if you click on Properties (context menu of object)..in properties window ..there are three tab called info .permission and history ...

once your audit is on then the value is listed in this tab

For DQL you need to Query on dm_audittrail object ..where all these information is stored and filter the result on base of object_type and object_name
