Using FormAPI: To Verify .DCR Extension

Hello,

I'm trying to use the Form API to verify if the Filename has the .dcr extension.
If it doesn't have a .dcr, to kick off an error stating to add the .dcr after the file name.

This is my code:

This code doesn’t do anything, and I can’t figure out what’s wrong.
I have been going over interwoven documentation and it doesn’t help at all.
Can anybody help me?

Unless it's just a typo...

Didn't you miss "match" in your if statement ?
if (IWDCRInfo.getDCRName().match(/\.dcr$/) ) {...

Thanks for catching that typo.

You have few issues with that code:

1. It never got called to begin with
2. Even if you call it on formInit Event, "checkDcrName" is declared inside init and therefore invisible
outside of it run-time
3. Missed final closing bracket

So, try something like the following:

- Better yet, create Java Script library to separate your FormAPI Code from DCT and include a reference to it in DCTs
where required

On onSaveNameSpecified, the DCR name is not set yet, only specified, so I don't think IWDCRInfo.getDCRName() in your checkDcrName(name) function would return you what you're expecting. You could rather use name.match() instead.

Plus, if it does match ".dcr" you don't return true, so your save will never complete.
