get and set extended attribute using web sevice

we are experiencing problems in getting/setting extended attributes in chinese characters. we are using web services interfaces for this purpose. can u guys suggest what need to be done to set/get these attributes in chinese.

Have you tried setting the same EAs using the CLTs, instead of the webservice? What's the result of that.
