Win 2003 SP1 play well with TS 6.5?

The subject of this post pretty much says it all, but I'm always resistant to agreeing to one of Microsoft's brilliant service packs but I'm getting more and more **** for it now. So, has anyone really encountered problems with Windows 2003 SP1 with TS 6.5 (no SP)?

According to the release notes the following was fixed in TS 6.5 SP2:

60538 Windows 2003 sp1: The system hangs whenever a write is attempted on the Y: drive.while this is still reported as a known issue:

61608 TeamSite reporting does not install on Windows 2003 SP1 systems.

So - it sounds like you should upgrade to 6.5 SP2 before installing Windows 2003 SP1 (the systen hanging problem sounds serious enough IMO)

Thanks, I must've missed all of that. I had read through some bit of documentation before posting, but there we go.

You wil run into problems if you install W2k3 SP1, the installer won't be running. It will error out and you don't get any error messages. Install TS 6.5, Then TS6.5 SP2, then W2K3 SP1 in order to get it installed.

Thanks, good to know. I seem to remember having this problem a while ago -- I've recommended against them installing SP1 but have given "okay" to install some core security patches.

I Talked with a TAM...he said the same but this was also with regards to SAV Symantic Anitvirus

1. Install Win2k3

2. Install TeamSite 6.5

3. Install TeamSite SP2

4. Install Windows SP1

5. Install SAV as outlined in the attached document KB55290, KB52911 and then KB1413

but.....KB 55290 conflicts with this Smiley Sad
