Hi,

Can anyone answer the following questions

1) How does iwcmp works internally?
2) What all parameters does it check while doing comparison between files?

Check page no- 93 of TeamSite Command Line Tools manual for the various parameters.

I am not asking the parameters to run the command but the parameters the iwcmp uses internally to compare the files like content, timestamp, version number etc.

My guess, since iwcmp works specifically against the TeamSite Virtual File System is that it utilizes version number information to determine if files in the two different locations differ - but that's just a guess.

If you're looking for an "official" response - you can either wait until someone in Interwoven Engineering happens to read this posting and decides to respond - or you can contact Support and open a ticket to get the information. However, you might want to provide a bit more rationale about *why* you need to know this (i.e. how does the CLT's implementation affect your work)?

The reason for asking these internals is to make sure the design which i come up with doesnt have any loopholes

From an external task i need to merge DCRs from one branch to the other. The DCR content in both the branches is open for edit. The issue is that if iwcmp returns f+ and f+ for both the branches then i need to do an automatic content merge from the first branch to the other. This would be a memory intensive work and therefore i want limit it to only absolutely required files. When running the iwcmp on the staging areas of both the branches i found a lot of files with f+ status in both the branches, therefore want to make sure what all parameters it compares on to make sure i have them covered.
