Documentum DFC 6.7 - Default value of Session Pooling if the property has not been specified in the

Hello ,

We are using a java client with DFC 67 , reading dfc.properties on the local file system to connect to a remote Documentum content server to push documents into the repository.

Currently there is no value for dfc.session.pool.enable in the dfc.properties .

So what would be the default value of session pooling . Would it be enabled or disabled.

Also how can we know whether session pooling is enabled or not other than from the value in dfc.properties

You can confirm that in the dfcfull.properties file. The value displayed in the property is the default one

Our application does not have a dfcfull.properties to access. What we do is have the dfc.properties in a location in the system , add that to our path variable . The dfc looks up the dfc.properties in the path variable and boots up.

So there is no dfcfull.properties in the path . So in this case what would be the default value for connection pooling and properties like concurrent sessions ?

dfcfull.properties is a dfc.properties with all the possible properties and the description of every single option. Is distributed with every DFC installation but it has no "use" in an application.

The default sessoin pooling value is:

#Controls whether session pooling is enabled.                              #dfc.session.pool.enable = true

Our java standalone application does not have a dfcfull.properties in the path . The dfc.properties does not have this value. So in such a scenario what would be the default value of session pooling

The default value for session pooling is "true" unless you explicitly specify otherwise. The default value for the maximum number of sessions that the DFC instance can have open is

dfc.session.max_count = 1000

Hello,

The dfcfull.properties file is only a file showing all the properties available to configure. If you do not have one in your application, you can take it from the Content Server installation, for example. You can find one in Documentum\config folder.

As well, there will be one included with WDK applications, like DA or Webtop, in WEB-INF\classes
