Hi,

A client has expressed an interest in evaluating the functionality provided by TeamPortal BEA.

The admin guide throws up a few questions.

1. The server side installation says to install Content Services 1.1.1 which will create an iwportal folder under iw-home. I don't really want to revert my Content Services version. What can I do?

2. Client side installation makes refrence to a file ContentServicesBEAPortal1.1.0Build xxxx.bin which I have tried to locate on the support site downloads.
Is this available? Could it be a permissions problem with my support login.

Any help would be much appreciated.

as a note - this product is not a product, IMO, but rather waste of your time and client's money.

trust me. just wait for newer versions..

In my opinion, the product is pretty useless, starting from a very poor documentation, ending with a very restricted architecture (e.g. only 1 workarea could be mapped per user), the interface is still old...

I provided some feedback to Interwoven, based on my experience implementing this product (we could not implement it, in the end..), hopefully in the new versions there would be some improvements.

At its current shape, IMO, you are better off doing your own stuff.

Are the portlets not built in a way that you can skin/customise the UI look and feel?

We will be shipping a new version of TeamPortal this month. This version is certified to work with TS 6.5 SP2 and BEA 8.1 SP4. This version is built with CSSDK 2.5 and all the portlets are JSR-168 compliant. Also - these portlets use the URL Commands to expose Content Center functionality so that the user experience is consistent with what you would see if you were in CC Std.

This version was released last week.. Tech Support is in the process of updating ESD with the bits and they should be available in a day or two. The docs should be part of that bundle as well.
