dfc.properties file in webtop

Hello Experts,

I am facing a weird problem where in I have configured webtop in eclipse and without configuring the dfc.properties file it works fine and gives me the error saying No docbrokers configured. But when i configure the dfc.properties file it gives the following error.

HTTP Status 404 - /webtop/

type Status report

message /webtop/

description The requested resource (/webtop/) is not available.

Please let me know which properties file is required to be changed, the one in \webtop\build\classes\dfc.properties or \webtop\build\classes\dfc.properties.

I have done this before but I seriously dont know why this problem is coming from.

Please share you expert advice.

You will need to make sure the below things:

1) The name reads the same as you have mentioned above and the URL you use is in the below format:

http://<Your App Server>:<port>/<AppName>........ without any / here.

2) Check that the dctm jars are available to the app along with the items in the "config" folder of docuemntum. also make sure that \App Home\WEb-INF\Classes\dfc.properties point to the right host.

The application is running without configuring the dfc.properties file giving me an error of No Docbrokers configured.

But once i change the dfc.properties file it gives me the above mentioned error

HTTP Status 404 - /webtop/

I doubt this is because of some version issues since DFC 5.3 is installed on my machine.

I tried doing all the possible checks, still not working

It"s a bit weird in fact...

A few question to identify the problem :

- What's your app server (Tomcat, Websphere, ... ) ?

- Which version of the DFC ?

- Please post the DFC.properties file !

I am using Tomcat 6.0 and DFC Version installed on my machine is DFC 5.3.

dfc.properties file :

dfc.docbroker.host[0]=by-archp.bayer-ag.com

dfc.docbroker.port[0]=1489

dfc.globalregistry.password=rYQl0EUQTpM=

dfc.globalregistry.repository=centaur

dfc.globalregistry.username=dm_bof_registry

I doubt this is because the global repository i have mentioned is version 6.5 and my machine has 5.3 installed on it.

If this is the case ,could you please suggest me what need to be done?

I got this issue resolved .

Copied the dfc.properties from the production environment and it worked.

I believe that the dfc.data.dir entry was missing in my properties file and that was the reason .

I changed the entry to dfc.data.dir=C\:Documentum and it worked.
