how to attach lifecycle to a document in d2 through dfc

Hello ,

I am importing a document into d2 repository , now i want to attach lifecycle to the document "d2_lifecycle_config" , how can i attach the lifeCycle to the document through DFC. Another question is , if i am attaching lifeCycle through d2 config , and created document in d2 client . then through which DQL query i can determine the lifecycle attached to that document.

D2 do not use LC-ID. The ID I have used here is document id.

You need to configure Lifecycle and have that configuration attached to your document type in configuration matrix. At runtime D2 will resolve it and attached mentioned LC.

Target state and event parameters are optional, If you want to attach lifecycle at particular state then you can use "Target State" param.

Hello,

The D2LIfecycle is not directly attached to the document. Each time you need to apply a transition on a document, D2 will resolved the matrix to find the D2Lifecycle definition to apply.

If you want initialise a D2lifecycle on your document you just need to set your a_status property with a value or your lifecycle.

Another tips, if you do CTRL-ALT-D on your document through D2 Client, you can see which Lifecycle configuration apply.

thanks, yah It is showing the name of lifecycle , but where could i get more data about d2_lifecycle_config , and how to attach it to document through D2FS ,

This is what I have done to attach a lifecycle through D2FS.

Download Sample code from D2FS SDK.

You will get AttributeHelp and LoginInfo from there.

Generate classes from WSDL.

Once you have everything in place below code to attach Lifecycle.

Hmmh,

old thread indeed, and I'm looking into the very same topic just right now.

Looking into soapUI, applyRequest takes three parameters, id, targetState and event.

Your code sets only the id, which presumably is the LCid itself. State is fine as well, but
where do you connect that LC do a specific object? Haven't tried it yet, but something seems to be missing.
