Customize Widget

Hi,

I need to customize Widget's display. Here are my two questions:

1. How could we change the background color of widgets? (The idea is to have a different color for each Widget)

2. How could we change the color of metadata on columns? (We have a column called "status" on a Doclist Widget, which displays the status of a document on a workflow. And we need to display each status on a different color. Draft=yellow, Processing=orange, and Archive=Red)

I am almost sure that there is a way to answer those questions via plugins (overriding services/actions).

Still I ask the question hoping I would find other ways (native solutions?) to handle these matters.

I think in D2, you can customize the UI directly in D2 Confi but this customization is available for all the widget not only for one.

As far as I remember, you cannot highlight a specific line based on metadata. If you need that, I think you have to create a list display widget with your specific needs.

You have some control over the style sheets, which may allow you to change the background colors, but I think it mainly controls the tabs. Check this file:

D2\resources\themes\slate\css\xtheme-x3.css

To change the background color in the HTML provided by the document list, you might have to create an SDK plugin with a listener for the document list event, add your code to what is returned by D2.

You may also wish to create a custom widget.

Alternatively, you could create a report using EDRG or another reporting tool.
