Error while installing Documentum Composer

I installed Content Server and ensured that both repo and docbroker are running properly.

Then I extracted the ZIP of the Copmoser DCTM_Composer_R.6.7.1120.0095, and replaced dfc.properties file in DCTM_Composer_R.6.7.1120.0095\Composer\plugins\com.emc.ide.external.dfc_1.0.0\documentum.config with the setting in the dfc.properties file in Content Server, but getiing following error:

What could be the reason behind this?

In the composer folder you'll find a log4j.log file with more info about the error...

the one you want is C:\DCTM_Composer_R.6.7.1120.0095\Composer\log4j.log or C:/Documentum/logs/trace.log

At this path C:\DCTM_Composer_R.6.7.1120.0095\Composer there is no log4j.log file.

Hi,

I have had this problem too.

In my case, I had JAVA_HOME environment variable which was pointing to a JRE7 installation.

I have changed it to make it point to a JRE 1.6 included in my Documentum installation (C:\Documentum\java\1.6.0_31), and this solved the problem.

you can specify the correct java version. You don't need to change the java which is used by system (JAVA_HOME).

Make a shortcut at your desktop, and open the properties. Add the "-vm" option to specify your correct java for composer. i.e.

In the "Target" section add this:

"C:\composer\composer.exe" -vm "C:\Program Files\Documentum\java\bin\"
