Problem when setting workspace PropertyValues

Hi,

I am using WOM API. When I am trying to Update the workspace property values, I am getting null pointer exception.
If the property value is Not Null, It is working fine
If the property value is null, i am getting null pointer exception.

Here i am placing sample code that i have used

// Senior Director
Metadata seniorDirector = (Metadata)wspace.getPropertyValue("EXT:ENIORDIRECTOR_RSID");
if (seniorDirector != null){
seniorDirector.setPropertyValue("EXT:ENIORDIRECTOR",userDataArray[0]);
seniorDirector.update();
seniorDirector.refresh();
} else
{
System.out.println("SENIORDIRECTOR IS NULL");
}

Note: I am checking for null value for preventing null pointer exception. What I have to do if Property Value is Null?.

please help me out.

If I am understaing your problem correctly, you can write your code inside the try-catch block and show your custom message.

tell me this is your problem/you are asking something else?
