Documentum and Itext java

Hi All,

I am a newbie to EMC Documentum world. I have a requirement  to extracts pdf files from a Documentum repository
merges them together in a PDF file on FLY using iText java.

1. So when user click on a particular folder in the Documentum, I need to merges all the PDF files in that folder together and generate a PDF file
2. All the individual files have the filename for ex img1.pdf, img2.pdf so while merging them together I need to insert the filename
   as the "watermark"   on each page of merged PDF file.  Can this be achieved?.. Please Help!!!!

I tried searching on the internet for the solution but I came across only the examples where they have hard coded the input files.

How are you browsing the folders? are you using webtop? If so, you'll probably have to extend the browsertree component so when a node (folder) is selected you launch your business logic.

I don't know if you can watermark single pages in a merge operation with iText, but in the worst case scenario you'll watermark every file to a temporary output and then merge those temp files. However, I doubt this operation can be considered "on fly" as it will take iText a couple of seconds to watermark, merge and create a new document in the repository.
