xCP - Start Workflow Action on Folder Content Template

Hi,

I am developing a POC using xCP and I need some technical help. I have a process, process data, package (subtype of dm_folder) defined. I have a folder content view form where i list all the folders from a cabinet. I have a Invoke action button defined to startworkflow action.

My question is when a user selects a folder and clicks the invoke button, i should automatically have that folder added as package to the workflow and start the workflow.

Can you please help on how to achieve this technically.

I believe you would have written custom action class to invoke your workflow. can you add an argument for ur custom action to include r_object_id of the folder and I believe when you link a button control to an action in any of teh xcp forms, you can assign any value to it i.e., in this case you should be able to pass r_object_id of the folder in which this action button is present.

Hi Shiv,

I have not written any custom action class for this. I just configured a custom action of type startworkflowopenitem in taskspace application calling that in my form. In the folder content view template I just have the default text control to search, a filter and foldercontent control. I just want to know how to pass the folder id that is selected to the invoke button so it gets added as package automatically and shows up on the next start process screen..

Can you please let me know how you make the workflow selection from this button invocation. And also, have you made this folder type a mandatory package for your workflow?

I sincerely believe, you will have to write a custom action class which will take your folder is as an input argument and you will have to invoke the workflow in your code.

First in the taskspace application when u create a new action of type startworkflowopenitem, select the process u wanted to start. Then in the forms builder, insert invoke button and set the application as your custom taskspace application and action as the custom action you defined in the taskspace application.

Hi,

I managed to create a action in taskspace of type startworkflowfromdoc and when calling that form invoke button on a form content view template. The issue now is the invoke button is disabled

Further more i enabled tracing and figured out the below error:
