attempting to get server side includes working

Hello,

I've been attempting to get SSI's working in Teamsite so it can be used when previewing files. I've gone through much of the documentation on the matter and I'm trying to get a simple SSI command in a WORKAREA to run:

The file is ssitest.shtml:

<body>

</html>

We use iPlanet, and I've followed all of the instructions to update our iplanet configs.
Once completed, I end up iplanet starting with the following response:

The preview works then, but the ssi does not do anything..

I have also set the iplanet config to parse shtml files.

I have gone into the webd conf (http.conf.template added the server parse handler.

Is there a specific value to add to [iwproxy_plugin_remap] that starts the use of SSI includes?

Is there a checklist of things that need to be completed to turn on SSI in Preview in TEamsite. We're using 6.5 teamsite. solaris. and iplanet 6.0

I wouldn't think you need to touch http.conf.template. That's the teamsite web instance.

You should only need to configure your iplant instance.

1. Where are you setting this variable?.. is there an iplanet configuration for that
2. Have you tried to access the iplanet instance directly?.. does that work?
EG http://server:81/iw-mount/........../file.shtml
3. Have you tried any other SSI directives?.. The redirector modules, I believe, is really only for the include directive. If you're having other problems, it's probably a mis configuration of iplanet.

Here is my check list:

The first thing you should check is to make sure the redirector module is properly installed as per the Install Guide.
Then place the include and the parent file at the root of the workarea, remove relative paths to the include file.. and check if that simple case works.

If the above doesnt work, then look at your webserver logs for errors.

You should not have to configure anything else for iwproxy or iw-webd (TS apache)

I found it was a bad iplanet instance. It was a dev server and there was some funky iplanet instances. I removed the bad one, created a new one and things started working.

(Also reverted the aformentioned attempts -- hard to keep a dev environment clean sometimes)

Create a new server instance in iPlanet for the iwproxy port 1055
at /iw-mount ... /.iwmnt to the server's docroot
Set up SHTML parsing in the servers settings.

The following 2 lines need to be added to the iwproxy's iPlanet server instance: (magnus.conf)

Init fn="load-modules" shlib="/iw-home/lib/iwrewrite.nsapi.solaris.so" funcs="iwrewrite"
Init fn="iwrewrite"

I then added the following to the first line of the default object in obj.conf
NameTrans fn="iwrewrite"
And added this to the last line to the default objects PathCheck variables:
PathCheck fn="iwrewrite"

Funny enough, I need to provide this setup information to our admin guys.

The TeamSIte rewrite/redirector is ok as I have the TeamSite manual, but I don't know what are the various iplanet settings to enable SSI in iplanet (for .shtml files).

Could you outline the changes needed to the config files (are they obj.conf and magnus.conf??)
