Question on perl jsp

agammehta

Hi,

I 'm trying to do CALLSERVER in my ipl file. This CALLSERVER sends request to a jsp file. I don't understand why would my JSP file wouldn't be called.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
IWDatacapture.callServer("http://" + server +"/iw-bin/query23.jsp", params, true);

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is what I see in my error.log file
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Mon Aug 29 12:52:58 2005] [error] [client 172.29.171.144] couldn't spawn child process: e:/iw-home/httpd/iw-bin/query23.jsp

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks

jsp files are processed by the TOMCAT application server and not the teamsite web server.

agammehta

I understand that. That means i should redirect my page to jsp and back to ipl ?

How would I send my values from ipl to jsp and back to ipl file than ?

jed

You would have to put the JSP under the toolkit:
local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web

After a rebuild, you could then probably call the JSP by doing something like this:
IWDatacapture.callServer("http://" + server +"/iw-cc/query23.jsp", params, true);

Jed,

I don't have problem in my URL .. That works fine if, I have IPL file instead of JSP. I only have problem when I'm calling JSP file. I don't know if, we can even call JSP file from CALLSERVER ?

So let's put it this way.. Is it possible to call JSP file in CALLSERVER? If, possible can i get an example of it.

Thanks,

Yes it is possible to call a Servlet and/or JSP from within a form.

The syntax and guidance Jed gave you is correct. Do not put the JSP file in the httpd/iw-bin directory. Your URL should look like /iw-cc/customer/yourJSP.jsp. This is accomplished by putting the JSP definition within the customer toolkit.

What version of TeamSite are you using?

agammehta

teamsite 6.1 with service pack 1
why must it not work in bin ?

...why must it not work in bin ?...

I believe that would be because the WebServer/AppServer is not configured to compile JSP pages from iw-bin directory.

agammehta

Then i should be able to call a html file then in bin ?

reddyl

If you want to call a HTML file it can be placed under httpd/iw/custom/customer.html but HTML's can't process the data. CGI scripts are placed under the bin folder.

Group.. Still this doesn't work for me. I would go with JSP rather than HTML route.

I 've put JSP under "iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\web\query\query23.jsp". I did rebuild and than try to run my DCT. But no difference. I have only two line at this point of time in my JSP file. Which creates file.

So what is wrong in it now.

Are you sure that the jsp page is actually running? Have you tried to access it from outside the callserver?

Open up a web browser and enter this URL: http://<your host name>/iw-cc/customer/query/query23.jsp

Does this work? Is this the URL you have in your form api call server code?
