Connect to documentum using VB.Net

Hi all,

I am using Visual Studio 2010 and trying to write the program using dfc.

I simply import the following code:

Imports Documentum.Interop.DFC

But it is not recognized. I think I have to add reference to it but I don't know the exact procedure.

Anyone can help for this?

Firstly, welcome to the forums, and above all, thank you for being an EMC customer.

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for: "Documentum" and select the very first result that appears. This will relocate it to the Developer Network space of the Documentum community.

The DFC PIA was deprecated in D6, you shouldn't use this to build your VB .NET application - instead use the DFS .NET libraries (Documentum Foundation Services).

You'll need to download the DFS SDK, which includes sample .NET code.

What is your target repository min version? Documentum Content Server has support for CMIS standard since 6.7. For more details on cmis and a sample client, see, Apache Chemistry - DotCMIS

If I have some program using dfc to write (because before it is 5.3 version) and now I want to modify it due to the upgrade of documentum, what should I do?

Do I need to rewrite all those dfc program to be dfs?
