Change Edit Functionality in CCPRO

I'm looking to change the behavior of the "EDIT" link in Content Center Professional next the files listed (next to the Properties link). I'm assuming this can be done in through the customization guide but if someone can direct me where to start that would be great.

start by looking at the reference files to find the directive and its enclosure - copy that to you ui_custom.xml file and edit as per the ui guide - run make_toolkits.ipl and verify - repeat until you get it right or get overly frustrated.
