Acl for Link to folder

Hi Experts,

I have a workflow attachment with 2 activites and link to folder activity.

Based on object type i am moving the document to link to folder. Now at the time of uploading the document it will have some default acl but when it move to destination folder(link to folder) same acl is applied. My question is how to apply the destination folder acl to the document.

Need your suggestion on this.

am not using the tbo for calling the WF.

Through import component customization am calling workflow. when user import a document and select the types, work flow gets triggered.(i.e same wf for multiple object types). So any dql read or create acl acitivity can help my req.

If your want to sysobject has the same acl as folder where sysobject get linked the only correct ways is write either TBO or aspect.

Let me brief my workflow.

I have one temp folder where all my custom type objects will get imported and wf triggered. On completion of approval process it will be moving desired destination folder based on the object type.If i check the acl for the documents it will be same as the temp folder acl. Now i want to change the acl of the workflow attachment document to be same as the destination folder acl. please suggest the approach without tbo.

While moving the Document you can get the ACL of the folder and set the same.

yes temp folder acl is applying for the document, but i want to apply the destination folder acl(i.e temp and destination folders acls are different).

You know the destination folder, get the object of that and then acl and set to importing doc

In the import component customization, where you are calling the WF, you can attach the acl

In Process Builder, use a Process Data Mapper task to set the acl_name on the imported file.

either enable folder security, so objects in a folder will have folder's ACL or add a mapping auto activity, make the package with your document visible to the activity, map acl_name and acl_domain attributes of the package with two copy operations, and manually put the values of acl_name and acl_domain in the copy operations as parameters (each copy operation has 1 parameter, which is the value you'll be storing in each attribute)

EDIT: In fact, if you follow the best practices tips, you should remove the link to folder activity and do the link manually in the mapping activity so you'll be using one auto activity instead of two.

I have created two process parameter in the template and given default values as acl_name=hr_pa_normal_acl

acl_domain='aapgdmsdbaa01' which i need to apply. I used process data mapping activity to map the parameters, but next option is not enabled. please find the mapping snapt shots for the same and correct me if am wrong.

You don't need parameters, just add a copy operation, and set the values in there (double click the "document" icon of the operation), see the image below:

instead of "acl_name", in the Funcion Editor window put the name of your ACL. Same for the domain.
