Permissions in xCP 2.0

Hello Experts,

Today, I have faced something interesting in xCP 2.0 designer. I have tried to create an ACL and it has the following permissions.

Is that a new feature or a typo or still the plain old ACL? The Documentum platform none, browse, read, version, write and delete. Where this additional permissions are coming? And what about the missing ones?

Please help me out.

Hi Imran,

As you may noticed XCP2 & XCPDesigner aims to hide the technical complexity of Document Backend object and focus on business representation

For your concern the permission set is a representation of acl object that are going to be created in DCTM environment while installing your application.

The technical name of the target acl is shown in the xcpDesigner property View.

The permissions as I recall are as the following ( you can check by installing a permission set)

No Access --- NONE

Browse ---- browse

Review ----- Relate

Edit ---- Write

Administer ---- Delete

Browse and Delete ---- browse and extended permission delete (as for assistant that can only brose object to delete them instead of managers)

Please note that

For this acl the dm_xcp_deployer role has delete permission

for the missing permission i can't answer but i can assume it is more of a simplification of the permission management on design-time

Maybe, that is the case but it does not make sense. Anyway, one who is a developer should be technical and should have a good understanding of documentum platform. What about version permit then? Should I go back to composer to create and acl with only version permit?

Of course if the need require typical permit. You can use extension points & modules to create & attach them ( if they are reated using composer)

Or use a stateless process with an “edit permission” activity that has all the basic permissions
