So we have migrated to OpenDeploy from Microsoft Site Server for intranet and web application deployment (as well as other reasons). One of the feature I really liked about SiteServer was the ability to have something called a continuous job. This used the Operating Systems' inherent ability to send file system change notifications to trigger the publishing of content near real-time.
The only way we have been able to accomplish similar functionality with OpenDeploy is to schedule a configuration to run every minute or two. This adds a lot of overhead from a number of perspectives:
- network traffic doing file comparisons
- volume of jobs run
- volume of logs
and more.
Has anyone found an easy way around this? Does anyone care?
Thanks
