strange scenario

I amon TS6.5 on win2000. But i have a stage box on linux and prod box on linux. I have OD 6.0.2 base and admin on stage and OD6.0.2 receiver on prod. Well you can imagine a scenario, where i can deploy from dev env to test and eventaully to prod.

Here is a scenario when we involve DD in this whole thing. We have dev database table not created from Teamsite ( not using DAS/Standalone). But my client wants to Data Deploy Tables from Dev environment to stage and eventaully to Production. Has anyone tried this kind of Data Deploy scenario. If this is possible, how can i do it. Please refer me to a manual which explains how this can be achieved?

Are you asking about using DD to deploy from DB-to-DB?
If so - don't - the recommendation for DB-to-DB transfer is to use the DB vendor's tools.

If you're talking about TS-to-DB(staging) and TS-to-DB(production) that's okay and often done because it's usually run in conjunction with TS-to-Web(staging Smiley Surprised

Depending on what gets deployed to staging and what you need to deploy to the DB - it is possible that you could do an staging-to-production OD + DD run - but fairly often the DD source is DCRs that don't get physically deployed to the other servers, so trying to go from staging-to-production may be difficult (you could deploy TS-to-XML to staging and then XML(staging)-to-DB(production) perhaps, but make sure this is really the route you want to go before spending a lot of time trying to design something that isn't needed....)

Yes the concept fits good when there is a "Development". But in my scenarios there are no DCR's there are files like html and php whihc are not created using templating or workflow. They are just getting "Imported" into teamsite and being deployed.

My understanding till now is there is no way for DD to deploy tables created by them outside teamsite from being deployed to stage or production.

I hope i am right. Please clarify.

These DB tables are not created using DD?
And you want to deploy the tables from one DB (staging) to another DB (production) ?

Look to the vendor of the DB for tools to do that - don't bother trying to use DD for it (when DD was first introduced, there was text about using it for DB-to-DB deployments, but that was soon removed from the documentation because generally you'll get better results using the DB-vendor's tools for this kind of thing)
