PAM LDAP Patch

Hi

We have teamsite machine in one box and ldap in another box
Solaris version is 9.
But on cross checking the patches applied it is found that Solaris "pam_ldap" Patch 112218-01 is missing in the teamsite box.
Is the installation of Patch 112218-01 a must if authentication is done via ldap.
