Documentum 6.7/7 UCF Pre-installation

I remember documentum 5.3 used to have an unsupported tool to pre-install UCF through a command line for secured client machines which does not give enough rights to users to install the UCF applet.

If there anything similar available for Documentum 6.7 or 7?

Hi,

i dont recall if such tool existed in 5.X or still exist in 6.X/7.X.

but in the same context where we are not allowed to install/run jre we modified the ucf install config xml file to use the same version of the jre deployed to users computers with GPO.

in this case the ucf installer/plugin detect the existing jre in the workstation and only exécute the applet.

PS : with some security updates in JAVA 7 Internet Exp. java plugin blocks the UCF applet. you may wanna check that if your workstation are running java 7

For 5.3 - This was on emc developer network, described how to do this...

Not officially supported..

So officially there was no supported tool..

Remember this is site-specific, so if you have another webtop/da/other wdk app in another environment, make sure to run for each site, this command.
