Worksite - JBoss Compatibility
Aryan
Does anybody have an idea if WorkSite MP is compatible with JBoss Appserver?
The "supported platforms" document says its compatible only with
1. WebSphere
2. WebLogic
3. Tomcat.
Can anybody let me know. Its urgent.

I can't say with perfect certainty, but I think there's a good chance it would work. Here's why:
- The WorkSite MP Web components require only a servlet engine from the App server.
- WorkSite MP works with Tomcat because it's the reference implementation for the servlet spec.
- I assume the JBoss servlet engine is faithful to the servlet engine spec.
I've also heard of one customer that was using JBoss to manage multiple TomCat instances for high availability and failover.
Regardless, this would *not* be supported.

Correct, officially it's not supported but you can reinvent the wheel

JBoss does not have a servlet engine of its own. It recommends Tomcat as the servlet engine (it has used Jetty in some early 3.0 versions).
JBoss application server can act as a decent (free) front end for a high availability web farm consisting of Tomcat servlet engines.
Please see the link below for more details.

JBoss group also provides professional support for Tomcat (

)
So, theoretically WorkSite MP Web Components should work, and you can of course engage JBoss Support Services to resolve issues if any.
Enjoy!!
