Limitation on files to be attached to workflow
jeetu
Hi,
I am a scenarion where in i am trying to attach around 14 files to a workflow, but it attaches only 8 files.
Is there any limit on how many files need to be attached to a workflow
My Teamsite environment is as follows:
1)Ts 6.5 SP2 on windows 2000
2) I am using Job specification file to initiate a wirkflow.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Jitendra

Hi Jitendra,
As far as my job is concderned at the max i have attached more than 100 files to a single wokflow. And also i dont think there is any limit for the same. As you have said it attaches only 8. Could you please confirm if this is happening at the start of the workflow or in between the workflow?
If it is in between then check if there is any submittask before attachment of the files.
Again as per your query, there is no limitation for number of files attached to a workflow.

I think the limit is around 500 (ish).

Could there possibly be spaces or strange chars in the filenames that may cause it to bomb out?

Can you post the job spec?
Are your files attached using a <files> element in the job spec or are they added by some task?

What UI are you using - CCPro or CCStd?
If CCStd - are all the files that you are attempting to attach from the same workarea? If not - it won't work as all files associated with a given task in the job need to be associated with the areavpath of the task.
Alternatively, as suggested, perhaps there's some character(s) in the paths and/or filenames that is causing problems due to questionable coding within the wft for handling the pre-selection? We'd need to see the wft code for that - but it would be much better if you took the time to try to debug this a bit further on your own before posting all of that data.
