out of the box workflow notification not working

Hello,

Issue : A single repository is server using 2 content servers. The workflow notification goes susccessfully from one node but not from the other.

dm_webtop_sender.ebs, and dm_mailwrapper.sh are identical.

sendmail command works from command line without any issues.

smtp_server of both content server objects are same (dm_server_config).

Env Details

Content server version : 6.7 Sp1 Patch 5

Os : Solaris

Db : Oracle

Can somebody point what could be issue and what other things need to be checked.

Did you compare the server.ini files in both servers? There's an option (not set by default) which can be used to prevent the notifications from being sent.

The "mail_method" attribute value in dm_server_config determines which method is used to send the emails. Please search for this value in both servers and turn the trace option in the method properties. This way each time a notification is sent you'll see the method invocation in the docbase log file.

Take a look in the sendmail service in the server which is not sending the notifications.

/var/adm/maillog may be used to see the activity.

thanks rstein for reminding. I was about to check that and then it escaped my mind.

currently i do not have access to those logs. Will check and update shortly.

In the server that sends out mail I can clearly see sendmail getting triggered which is missing in the problematic one.

So I believe the issue is not with sendmail command, but it is not getting triggered. If so what should i be checking.

thanks a ton rstein!!! server.ini had the below entry stopping mails.. commented it and everything works like a charm!!
