external dfc client connection to developers edition 7.1 cs

Hello, anyone had success connecting a dfc client to the developers edition 7.1? We have it running and DA/REST/etc and all functions fine. Disabled firewall in CentOS. Cannot connect from external DFC client to the content server

Error:

DFC_DOCBROKER-REQUEST FAILED, ERRORCODE: ff; NEXT: null

DFC trace:

Docbroker request failed at ****.yyy.www.zzz:1489 due to Exception Connection refused: connect

Where are you running the machine (vmplayer, vmware esx, esxi)?

If you're running it on a vmplayer you can only access it from the local machine (in case the network adapter is configured as host).

can you ping the server from the client machine? can you telnet to the docbrocker machine/port?
