taskspace application project in SVN

HI All,

We have a Taskspace application which has Process Template, forms, BOF modules, types etc. This is included in Composer project creating 1 dar.

Is there a way I can maintain this in SVN? or Is it mandatory to take taskspace application from repository whenever changes is needed?

I am curious to know how other people are managing source code for taskspace applications.

Hi,

Did you manage to add the taskspace application to SVN? I was reasearching the same thing a few days ago. You can add the project to SVN, but how do you update with the configurations done in the repository?

For me this is still ongoing, but a good starting point would be checking the ANT tasks from Composer. You can find those in the Composer user guide under "Managing Projects and DAR Files Using ANT tasks and headless composer". There is also a chapter on "Working on source control systems" but it doesn't cover taskspace applications.

You can add any composer project to SVN, but what you're adding are the local files composer keeps with the project. Any change you perform outside composer won't be tracked (obviously). You'll have to update your artifacts from the repository and update the SVN repository if you want to keep track of the changes made outside composer.

Yes, I got that. My question is actually how do you update taskspace configuration/forms/processes everything that's changed from repository? How do you "reimport" the taskspace from the repository?

Create a new taskspace project by inporting app from repository.

Use directory compare tool, beyond compare, to show what has changed.

For simple changes, just copy the xml config

But if adding lots of new objects then, archive old project.
