increase CAS storage retention date

Hi, I was reviewing the content server docs (fundamentals and administration) and couldn't figure this out.

In order to assign a custom retention date in the Centera Storage you specify the retention attribute at the dm_storage object and you set it afterwards in the Content object on creation (SetStringContentAttr via DFC or date or long). I guess this will set the i_retain_until in the document object but ¿how can you increase this date if needed? I mean supose I close a record containing documents with an existing retention date. ¿Can I update these content attributes directly and will they be transmitted to Centera?¿Should I migrate content to another dm_store im order to update them?
