Invalid Licence in VF

Hi ALL,

When i click in an item which contains Visual Formatter, iam getting error saying invalid licence.

Please tell me what might be the problem and how can i solve it, please find attached screen.

Looks to me like you don't have visualformatconfig.xml in <iw-home>/httpd/iw/, or you're pointing at an XML file that doesn't exist with the external-editor-config attribute in your textarea element.

I have seen this when the "external-editor-config " is pointing to an xml that doesn't exit in the path specified. Have you verified the complete path of the xml?

And, location of "visualformatconfig_spellcheck.xml " is "/data/software/iw/iw-home/httpd/iw" and in this loction specified file is there.

Sanjeev,

Before "Invalid License..." did you get another error ?
If memory serves, it is something like "XML Failed to Load due to the following Error..."
If so, you may have malformed VF configuration.

In any case, check if your custom conf is well formed. If it is, remove external-editor-config
temporarily and see if you get an error with default configuration

I removed : external-editor="visualformat" external-editor-config="visualformatconfig_spellcheck.xml"/>

Its not thrpwing any error.

And regading custom conf file well formatness, i did not understand which is that.
But my "visualformatconfig_spellcheck.xml" is well formed.

What happens if you put back external-editor="visualformat" but continue to leave off the external-editor-config setting - does it "work" or not work?

If it works - the problem has to do with the config file.
If it doesn't work - the problem is generic to the use of the VFE editor - and you should probably contact IWOV and/or Ektron support for assistance

We're having the exact same problem now - whenever we click into a VFE we get an error window pop up with "INVALID LICENSE" and "A licence is required for host: (ourhost)".
We're upgrading from 6.5 to 6.7.1 on Solaris. We didn't have this problem with the install on our new test server, it's come up now on our new production server.

VFE has Client footprint and 6.7.x uses different VFE version than 6.5. Perhaps some of your Production Server users have older
version installed when they worked with 6.5

Try to uninstall VFE completely from one of your user desktop and see if upon rendering 6.7 DC Form you'll be prompted to install
VFE (should be newer one). Take a look at [thread=27742]this[/thread] thread, it talks about VFE uninstall, etc. If that does not help contact Support, the
issue is quite common

The VFE files on our 6.5 server were accidentally copied to our 6.7.1 server... Oops!
Oh well, at least it was easy fixed!
