Content server 6.7 Does not start up

Content Server version: 6.7.1080.0157

OS Version : RHEL 5, 2.6.18-308.8.2.el5, 64-Bit

DB : Oracle

Content server does not start up. It is stuck after the below message. Tried multiple times, even after clearing cache. Any ideas

I bet you are facing with bug in Content Server. Shutdown xPlore first, then start CS.

It is probably failing while loading the Fulltext Plugin (libDsearchQueryPlugin.so if using xPlore).

Have you changed something? Are you using xPlore or FAST?

When using xPlore the next line should be something like:

[DM_FULLTEXT_T_QUERY_PLUGIN_VERSION]info: "Loaded FT Query Plugin: /opt/documentum/product/6.7/bin/libDsearchQueryPlugin.so, API Interface version: 1.0, Build number: HEAD; Oct 12 2012 02:47:24, FT Engine version: xPlore version Unknown"

I bet you are facing with bug in Content Server. Shutdown xPlore first, then start CS.

Thanks panfilovAb and Rstein for the response. The Xplore search host was hung and the content server continued to wait for its response. Eventually shutdown the Xplore host and CS started up fine.

But this looks a bit strange that Content server impacted by Search server availablity. There should be some kind of timeout and Content server should start up without that.

Would you have any more details of the bug.

I face the same issue today and able to solve it with PanfilovAB's answer

I kill Xplore service and kill all java process which relate to Xplore and boom , Content server able to start up properly.

You should write to EMC support, and if you whould lucky, they`ll fix this bug if it would not be considered as "improvement"
