Hello All,
What is single - sign on and what is SSO-Authentication
If there are Accepted Answers, those will be shown by default. You can switch to 'All Replies' by selecting the tab below.
Hi
Single sign-on (SSO) gives users the ability to authenticate once (say on windows desktop) and then access web applications without providing any username and password. SSO helps users avoid remembering multiple passwords across applications, and eases IT administration. At times organizations integrate their applications with their enterprise Identity and Access management solutions.
Say in case of Documentum - webtopm, taskspace like applications can be configured to use Single sign on
Documentum supports siteminder and kerberos based single signon solutions and provides corresponding plugins that are stored in dba\auth directory and how to use them is also documented in product notes
For Webtop, the other way to provide single sign-on authentication is using PrincipalAuthenticationScheme , you can read about it the forum itself
Hope this helps

You should read Single sign-on - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I think.
Also take a look at this white paper - it is a bit old but explains SSO setup with kerberos
