404 error when trying to preview datacapture.cfg

Env: TS 6.5, windows 2003 enterprise

1. Under workarea, when we are browing a datatype,
we will see the datacapture.cfg file as one of listed
files/dirs.

2. When I click on the file name, it is showing 404
error. I think that is equalent to select the file and
click preview.

In 5.5.2, I am seeing a intermediate page, with submit, update,... toolbar

3. The url appears like
http://ipaddr/iw-mount/default/main/shad/internet/md/Projects/HA888_95/WORKAREA/workarea/templatedata
/Project_Templates/Contractor/datacapture.cfg

4. IIS mounting(iw-mount) is done correctly, I can able to create the DCR and preview it.

Can anyone help to find the reason for getting 404 error?

Is the error you get "The XML page cannot be displayed"? To the browser, all your datacapture file is is an xml file. And it likely can't find the dtd that you specify for your datacapture. What happens if you just copy the dtd from

\iw-home\local\config to the same folder that your datacapture resides in and then click on the datacapture?

1. The error is

The page cannot be found. not xml display error.

2. I have this line in my DCT.
<!DOCTYPE data-capture-requirements SYSTEM "datacapture5.0.dtd">
I copied the dtd file to the location of DCT.. no change, still same error.

I have had the same problem before.

You need to configure the default iis web site created for use with TeamSite by adding your own MIME types.

Perform the following steps:
1 - Go into the IIS service manager
2 - Open up the Properties for the Default Web Site
3 - Go to the HTTP Headers tab
4 - Click MIME types
5 - Add an entry for extension cfg, MIME type text/plain
6 - OK out of everything, stop and start the default web site

You should be all set. Repeat the above steps for anything else you wish to be visible without the error (i.e. tpl, xml, etc.)

thanks for your help. yup, that is the problem. But in 5.5.2, I am seeing a intermediate page with heading "SPECIAL DOCUMENT" and the tool bar.

Now, we put the mime type as text/plain, so it is displaying the entire DCT code and tool bar. Is it the default display page or is there any other setting to hide the code like 5.5.2?

Not sure I understand what you are hoping to get. Can you attach a screenshot from what you saw in 5.5.2 and what you see now so I can better answer the question?
