D2 API to check if LifeCycle exists on any document

Hi,

The IProperty service does give the attributes, dump of any object. Much in the same context, that if we need to find lifecycle details on any object. We need right click and switch to see the details. But there is a method:

java.util.List<Attribute> getProperties(Context context, java.lang.String id, java.util.List<java.lang.String> attrFilter) throws java.lang.Exception

I wish to use this, but am not sure how does a filter thing work. Also i tried using it but for the object, i attached lifecycle the getProperties gives no values in List Returned. Any suggestion how can this be used.

Hi Vivek,

D2 doesn't connect a lifecycle object to a document so you can't check such a thing.

Based on a property (by default the a_status) it knows how to promote/demote and what action should be executed in that state-name.

If your document a_status is 'In Review' and you do a D2-promote to 'Reviewed' and you forget to set the a_status to 'Reviewed', D2 will execute the 'Reviewed' actions, but will 'see' the lifecycle-state is still 'In Review'.
