DA should be aware of D2

Shouldn't it be great if you can manage your Documentum D2 system completely in DA?

DA is intended to do your administration tasks, but if you have D2, you aren't able to administer D2 specific things.

It's been years now as EMC took over D2 from C6, but this need isn't even on a unofficial roadmap.

F.i. workflows are visible in DA, but you don't see the D2 details which are stored within the repository as separate objects and XML's.

I wonder if there is road towards this.

Please help me in finding a solution for this need by customers and partners.

So, you aren't confused that D2 is not TBO-aware, are you?

Ofcourse! It would be awesome if D2 interacts like Webtop/xCP does. It opens a lot of possibilities.

On a longer term D2 and xCP should be merged to my opinion. Combine the power of both camps.

. I hope you are right but i did not hear about this merged since a long time at EMC ! The new xCP 2.0 use a totallly different technologie as D2 so i'm not totally sure this is on the roadmap !

Hi ,

Neither did I. Which not surprised me due to the seperate camps (D2 vs xCP) not working together on this. It's not mentioned on any (un)official roadmap. Only in discussions with the general members.

Hopefully they will see the 'light' soon, so we and our customers can use the powerful elements of both worlds.
