Worksite Web: Add Context menu item(clientMenu.js)

Hi all!

I would like to know how to get the customdata linked to a document in order to add an menu item:

example :

in clientMenu.js i have :

if (pObj.archived=='1') {
menu.addItem(new MenuItem("472|Restore From Archive",
"../scripts/MiscDocumentOps.aspx?op=restorefromarchive&nrtid=" + nrtid, "",
"../images/Versions.gif"))
}


i would like to know if i can do : if (pobj.custom3 == 'test') ...
Is there a way to do that?

The pObj object is actually built using server-side logic. Therefore, you do not have any way of accessing pObj.custom3 because the server-side code does not populate that value. Further, pObj is really an undocumented object that is for internal use only, so the actual properties that it contains can change. Having said that, however, you can see some basic properties that we populate. In ClientMenus.js, look for "function Params()". Perhaps there is some other property that you can use instead.

The other solution would be to write your own HttpHandler in C# that builds a client-side object with the properties you need. You could then use our clientToAsp object to get the data. clientToAsp is merely a wrapper around the Microsoft XMLHTTP object. The code is located inside includes/Common.js.
