Has anyone written any workflows that base the approvers off of the MetaData for a file? What I'm thinking of would allow a user to submit multiple files. The workflow would then check to see if the files were all owned (via metadata) by the same individual. If so the workflow would continue on and that person would be assigned the approval step.
If not the workflow woud either start seperate workflows or kick it back.
My concerns are if we get the approvals of files down to individual files than it could become a nightmare :-) So any thoughts on going to this granular a level?
The benefits is we could go with a smaller branching structure, the users could work accross the site without having to be placed in the various branches groups etc, and the approvals would all be based on who owns a file.
The drawback is that if the owner moves on, then we have to change the owner of all the files that person owns. Which could be cumbersome.
So anyway just curious if this has been tried/done.
Take care
