can i generate dcr ?

hi all,

i know we can generate a file from a dcr but is it possible to do the reverse? i mean by using generated file can we create the dcr for that generated file?

Yes, you can generate a dcr from a generated file but it all depends how to find the information in generated file if its a unstructured format.

You be more specific like sample generated file and the dcr ...

You can write a script to read/parse the generated file and create dcr xml file either in iwov or custom style.

yes , i know i can write a custom script to parse and generate dcr. but if i generate a file from a dcr and after that somehow that dcr has corrupted or destroyed then how can i generate the dcr from the generated file. does teamsite has any built in functionality ?

if not then only way left for me to write custom script .

No, there is no built in functionality for this. You must write a custom script to parse the generated file and created the DCR from it.

u can get previous versions of the DCR or get them from snapshot also ! , pls check this possibility.
