ucf wait time out error in documentum developer edition 6.6

Hi ,

I was working on documentum developer edition 6.6 but whenever I try to checkin or checkout or try to perform any other operation on the documentum , I get ucf wait time out error. I checked the ucf folder in :C/user/ but it was created there , so I was not able to clear ucf cache. Please help me how to resolve this error on documentum developer edition 6.6

Is this a limitation of documentum developer edition 6.6

Please reply as soon as possible.

Doesnt sound like a problem with the Dev edition, its general UCF issues. Try stopping the Application server and any Java service and then clearing the cache should resolve this. If not, you are looking at turning on tracing for UCF.

It could also be IPV6 related. IPV6 is not too well supported.

Search for IPV6 and UCF in these forums, I've posted multiple times a lot tips to solve that....

The UCF Error

1) Close ALL open browsers and
applications.

2) Stop Java:

a)
Starting the Task Manager (right-click on the Windows Task Bar at the bottom of
the screen)

b)
Choose the Processes tab and sort the list of processes by clicking on the
Image Name column header.

c)
Make sure that javaw.exe is not in the list.

d)
If it is in the Processes list, select it and click End Process at the bottom
of the popup.

(Make sure all your applications are
closed so that nothing unrelated gets killed in the process. You must repeat
this step for each javaw.exe process in the list)

3) Open the Java Control Panel goto:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Java or Java (32-bit).

4) Clear the Java cache:

a)
On the General tab, in Temporary Internet Files section, click Settings...

b)
In the Temporary Files Settings popup, click Delete Files, then click OK.

5) Clear EMC Java Certificates:

a) On the Security tab, click
Certificates...

b) Select and Remove all certificates
issued to "EMC Corporation".

6) Disable next generation Java plug-in:

On the Advanced tab,
expand the Java Plug-in list. Uncheck Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in
and click Apply.

When finished, click Close.

7) make sure one version of Java is enabled:

a) On the Java tab, click View...

b) Make sure only one Java version has
the Enabled checkbox selected. Click OK.

8) Verify your browser settings(Open
a new browser) and Clear browser cache and restore browser defaults:

a) In your browser, choose Tools >
Internet Options.

b) On the General tab, Browsing history
section, click Delete. In the popup, select all checkboxes and click Delete,
which closes the popup.

9) On the Advanced tab, click the
Restore advanced settings button, and Apply..

In IE 7 and 8, enable automatic
prompting:

10) Clear the Documentum cache

a) Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop, or choose
Start > Computer.

On Windows XP: Navigate to the C:\Document and
Settings\\Documentum folder.

On Windows 7: Navigate to the C:\Users\\Documentum folder.

b) Delete all content in the ucf folder and close the
window.

Validate the results

Restart your PC.

Open an Internet Explorer
browser and open Documentum link

If you get either of the
following popups, do the following:

"This is the
first you have visited the [cms.mcgill.ca] site. Do you want to trust
content from this site?" Click Yes.

"Java has
discovered application components that could indicate a security concern:
ResidentUcfInvoker_LaunchRuntimeApplet_0." Click Run.

Wait 2 to 3 minutes before
continuing to the next step.

Try to do the file operation
that originally gave you the error message.
