Hello All--
A colleague and I just finished grappling with an error that appeared while running one of my batch programs after a new database was added to an existing server for my batch program to open and process: Here are the symptoms:
1. The handled exception displayed the message: "[NRTDatabases ][Item ]Item "IMAN_DocBase_YourEnterprise" does not exist in collection :"
2. The MailSite/DeskSite connections to the same docbase name succeed on both of our laptops.
The solution:
The ODBC connection on the iManage server MUST either be the name of the docbase -- or the code must reference the ODBC name EXACTLY. We had setup our ODBC name to something very similar, but not EXACTLY the actual name of the docbase. So when the code executed the statement:
IManDatabase oDB = _iSession.Databases.ItemByName( _docbaseName ); // _docbaseName was set to "IMAN_DocBase_YourEnterprise"
The exception described in symptom #1 appeared.
We discovered the difference between the ODBC name and the docbaseName when we carefully examined the startup logs.
If any of you have already discovered this--and perhaps have found a better way to code for this possibility, please add your comments to this.
In any case, I and a colleague spent nearly 3 hours on resolving the challenge--so Ithought I'd leave a footprint for anyone else who may encounter a similar problem.
