Quick regex question
briggek8717
When our users use templates to create pages, they are given the option to create a "printer friendly" version of the page as well. We would like to make it so that they are not able to edit the printer friendly version once it is created. Currently, if they were to try to edit it, notepad would pop up as their editor.
Would this be restricted in the iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed settings in the iw.cfg? If so, can someone help me with the syntax of how I'd restrict it? Regex's are not exactly my forte'. An example file name of the printer friendly version would be: _KevinTestPrinterFriendly.aspx. The non-printer friendly (the one we want them to be able to edit via the template) would have been called KevinTest.aspx.
If it matters, we are on 6.1 on Win2K3.

We used to to go about this generating a page and a printer page also, then we discovered that by simply adding some CSS to our presentation template we could kill the second step. That way when anyone prints the page they automatically get the printer friendly version without having to do anything, it's really quite cool.

I agree w/nico... there's really no need for the extra overhead of creating, editing, managing a printerfriendly tpl.
IMO, this is best done dynamically on the consumption side using javascript and CSS.

That sounds like something for me to work on once I get some time (still fighting some fires from the recent upgrade), but for now, is there a way to do what I want to do?

The quick answer is make sure to set the TeamSite Templating EAs on your printer-friendly generated page - that way if they try to edit it - it will bring up the Edit DCR window for the DCR from which that page was generated. (run iwextattr -l on the *other* generated page to see what it should look like)
