xCP dev. edition and xCP designer

I downloaded xCP developer edition VM (CentOSPostgres06Mar14) and designer (xCPDesigner_2.1.0030.4664).

Virtual machine with Centos, docbroker, docbase, etc, works OK.

xCP is unpacked on my host machine and it works OK too.

What is my next step? How to connect them?

I watched some videos and there is mentioned xMS. Does it exist in these VM? Is it possible to connect xCP designer with Documentum system on Centos VM without xMS?

PS: I am new to xCP and development, but have some experience in Doc desktop and webtop.

Are you able to configure the deployment environment on the xCP designer (local desktop) to connect to the xMS server(CentOS running on vmware workstation) ?

I am getting error "xMS Agent could not be found" ?

Hi Neelambhumij,

What values did you enter to connect to xMS Agent. Verify with below values. And make sure all services are running in vmware workstation.

port number 7070
user name- admin
password:- adminPass1

Hi Torpedo,

xMS is already installed in vmware. Verify xMS agent is running in your vmware.If it is running you should be able to connect to connect xCP Designer.

I used the same values as mentioned by you.

environment name: xCP-2.1-Developer-Environment-Template-cc

hostname: demo_server

Still not working.

HI Neelam,

Instead of host name:demo-server. Use ip-address of vmware as host name. It should work with ip-address
